Things to do in
Poulsbo, WA

Poulsbo is an easy day trip on either the Winslow or Bremerton ferry from downtown Seattle, the Edmons-Kingston ferry or by route over the Narrows Bridge from Tacoma. While a defensive sword and horned helmet is not required attire, visitors should expect to meet a few descendants of Norway's Viking culture. Poulsbo is adorned with scandinavian influence in its coffee houses, bakeries, and specialty shops. A small-town shoppers Mecca complete with one-of-a-kind galleries, antique shops, apparel boutiques and gift stores.

The Poulsbo Marine Science Center cleverly displays local marine animals in live tanks and is a thrill to see for kids of all ages. For those with a deep interest in Norwegian heritage, the Sons of Norway Lodge is a center for cultural activities year round. The calm waters of Liberty Bay are ideal for kayaking and small sail boats. Explore the shores and coves around the bay among the harbor seals eagles and waterfowl. Small boat rentals are available at the local marina for self-guided tours of the harbor. The winding country roads along the neighboring shorelines provide the opportunity for a pleasant bike trek.
