All About Guemes Island, WA

- by Jodie Vinson

With a population of only around 500 residents, one can find true escape on the isolated shores of Guemes Island. The island, measuring eight square miles was first founded by Europeans during a 1791 Spanish expedition. Located in the south east of the San Juan Island chain, the island is easily accessible by the Anacortes Ferry.
