Things to do in Allyn, WA
Allyn's immaculate waterfront welcomes both family gatherings and solitary getaways with a gazebo and picnic area affording views of the picturesque landscape. Visitors can leave the quiet shores to explore the waters from the North Bay Kayak Park or the boat launch and facilities at Allyn Pier. Or they can wander the feww shops and eateries in the village. Allyn's historic church, built in 1909, contributes its white steeple to the village's charm. Allyn is rich in the historic arts, some of which are still being practiced today. The Old Cedar Forge and Gallery are full of antique tools of the blacksmith trade, and the forge is still in daily operation. The town's heritage of craftsmanship is further celebrated at the George Kenny School of Chainsaw Carving. Guests are welcome to watch the artists and students carve out masterpieces or browse their finished work in the school's gallery. Visitors won't want to miss the summer celebration of this small town's waterfront heritage. Visitors and locals alike enjoy the waterfront and its resources with tantalizing salmon dinners served up in the waterfront park during the Allyn Days Festival and Salmon Bake.
