Things to do in North Tacoma, WA

Welcome to "Old Town". Tacoma's waterfront is a place of continual creation and development. With plans for a recreational waterfront path in the making, visitors should not shirk from forging their own path down to Tacoma's waters. Many small businesses scattered along the waterfront provide spaces for the community to enjoy its shoreline. The specific past of the waterfront is celebrated at the Working Waterfront Maritime History Museum.

Nearby downtown offers a variety of shops and museums such as the Museum of Glass and the Tacoma Art and History Museums, while parks and public piers along the water allow for natural escapes from the city. Point Defiance offers over 700 acres of recreational opportunities, including hiking and kayaking. Causal and fine dining with scenic views of the water also enhance Tacoma's developing waterfront experience.
